It's All Over

Finally, rest in peace…

It’s finally over, it’s finally all over. May she rest her soul in peace, may she find eternal sleep. I’m glad the funeral is finally done with; surely for a positive reason since from now on I can truly enjoy what’s left of summer. I’m sorry if I didn’t post yesterday night, it’s just that I was completely out of energy after the whole up and down, from church to cemetery; stuff like that.

July 6th 2009 marks the day of relief for the whole family; my grandmother has finally been returned to the earth and now we can move on to other things. I can for once in a short while start living more in the present and less in the past. The day had its ups and downs. Some moments were very intense, while others were soothing. I can recall one instance where they were playing a song in the church for the funeral and it was “Mama” from Il Divo. The lyrics were so touching that my eyes filled up with tears and after a few seconds gave in to the flooding. I looked kind of dumb…but at the same time I just couldn’t help it.

Then came the ceremony at the cemetery. It was really sad, like when my grandfather descended the urn into the ground and cried out “I love you”…it made me realize how short life can be…

After the ceremony it started raining, it was like a message from the dead since after me let the last flower drop into the grave it started. I was really amazed (okay maybe not) since the whole sky was filled with rain clouds but it hadn’t rained yet. Anyways, so we headed to some family that I had visited once when I was a baby, so I didn’t really remember anything there. If you want country the place was definitely country; fields as far as you can see, cows by the hundreds and many little houses.

That’s where we took the picture above, my brother messing around with the family dog there, and Em and I who were taking pictures in a car window (explaining the random reflection on my head in the picture).

Needless to say that today I slept…I ate...and I found some music on my USB. I’m not sure how it got there, might be an auto-downloader thingy that transferred music when I was on an other computer. So I basically did some audio file organization today. Got to go now, see ya.
