HOME!

Finally, but sadly…

I’m home, and I didn’t post in forever! My bad, it’s just that I’m really busy right now trying to get everything back in place and getting used to the life back home, although it’s not hard at all.

The trip to Vancouver, from Monday to Tuesday, was simply fabulous. We stayed at this awesome hotel right in the heart of downtown. I loved the feeling of getting up in the morning and opening the huge curtains, covering the floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows that gave onto a new day amongst the beautiful city high-rises. On my way to Vancouver I finally got those yellow Converses I desperately wanted, and I’m glad. Now I didn’t plan on buying anything once I got in Vancouver but I couldn’t resist the temptation when we walked in front of a Zara, which is this store that we don’t have in Ottawa. I bought another pair of shoes there, high-tops to be more precise. When the day grew old (hahaha…so cheesy) we decided to dine out at this very nice Italian restaurant and it was DELICIOUS! I have never eaten spaghetti like the one they make, and it’s not super simple. It’s made with this Japanese beef, and like this spicy tomato sauce with herbs, as well as this cottage cheese mix. Anyways, it was really good, so good that I actually ate the whole thing! But that night when I woke up at 4 in the morning I had acid reflux…if that’s how you call it. Really not pleasant…but in the end it was worth it, awkwardly.

Upon leaving on Tuesday to get to the airport my aunt brought me to the China town district of the city to show me what it really was like. Not a pretty site; people everywhere, needles in hand, drugs, smoke, prostitution…simply ugly. So much for that, next thing I know I’m in the airport, ready to leave Vancouver for Ottawa. Security doesn’t really frighten me but the thing is, when I passed I beeped so they had to search me 3 times: with the paddle, with rubber gloves, and by taking my shoes off. So annoying, like I’m not some dangerous freak who wants to kill everyone! Everything was okay after that and I got to go home!

Now I’m home, and I’m happy although sad to leave my aunt and her boyfriend because they have been like my second family for a while. Now I better go to sleep because I have to go to school tomorrow…sadly…to do this sign-up for next week, because we’re starting school next week…bummer.
